Analysis
This process of coding and clustering through our data has allowed us to learn more about the various medical software that different healthcare professionals and patients utilize often, and we were also able to discover many different issues that users deal with when they utilize the software. We learned that both healthcare professionals and patients deal with a lot of the same challenges regarding the software that they use. For example, some of the challenges they struggle with include slow bandwidth, cluttered/unorganized/difficult to navigate user interfaces, too many distractions, outdated software, etc. Also, both user types want to see a lot of the same changes made with the software that they use. For example, both healthcare professionals and patients would like for the medical software they utilize to have a fast bandwidth, limited distractions, and they want the user interface to be user-friendly, organized, and easy to navigate.
We learned that healthcare professionals and patients spend a lot of their time utilizing this software in their daily lives, and so it should be able to make their lives easier, and not more stressful. The input that we received from the different healthcare professionals and patients that we interviewed allowed us to learn a lot about the main pain points and user needs regarding medical software. All of the different information that we have gathered regarding the challenges and user needs/wants will play a major role in guiding our design because we learned about many of the different aspects of the medical software that the users would like to be changed/improved, and so we have a good understanding of how our design would be more beneficial to the users than the current software they are utilizing.
